Behind the scenes: power trowel

Behind the scenes: power trowel On YouTube.

Academy biologist Jim offers a look behind the scenes with the power trowel (polyodon spathula) shows the Steinhart Aquarium Water Planet. Spreader generally live in Mississippi and feed primarily on zooplankton, but also feed on crustaceans and molluscs. Their particular shape of the nose can detect food from electromagnetic receptors and helps stabilize the head when viewing the water.
